This didn't start as a business. It started as survival.
Rise Anyway™ was built by a mother and daughter who have walked through trauma, reinvention, and the messy, beautiful work of becoming who they are meant to be. What began as personal healing — brushstrokes on canvas, honest conversations at the kitchen table — turned into a movement.
Every piece we make, every story we tell, and every dollar we give back exists to help women feel seen, celebrated, and powerful in their truth.
Before Rise Anyway™, there was CanCuddler.
For thirteen years, Melissa ran a small Etsy shop selling hand-monogrammed can coolers. What started as a side project turned into 25,000+ orders and a 5.0★ rating across thousands of reviews — one careful package at a time.
That shop taught us everything: how to make something people love, how to show up for a customer, how to build a business from a kitchen table. When Melissa began painting again — when the work started coming from a deeper place — we didn't start over. We evolved.

Melissa is the artist. A woman who's risen from the ashes more than once. Her mixed media work tells stories of transformation, resilience, and truth. Through brushstrokes and bold colors, she invites women into their own becoming.

Kaitlyn is the creative strategist. A multi-hyphenate leader who has worked with nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, and women-led businesses to grow their impact. Her creativity shows up in branding, storytelling, soulful movement, and strategy — and now, in helping shape the Rise Anyway™ community.
